June 2025 brought its own storms. My kidneys demanded urgent surgery, complex, lengthy, and risky. Yet, it had to be postponed. My allergist, already unreliable in past emergencies, ignored my pleas and those of my Power of Attorney. Weeks passed in silence until finally, a message appeared in my portal, cold, without a clear protocol.

That month, she abandoned my care entirely. Dropped me in the middle of a medical crisis.

To make matters worse, my clinic claimed I had missed three appointments. Their policy: three strikes, and care may be terminated. But two of those “missed” visits had been when I was at my mother’s ICU bedside, as her DPOA. The other two were canceled due to my allergist’s prescribing errors. Still, the threat of losing treatment loomed over me.

"We find it necessary to inform you that you will no longer be scheduled with MD and the Medical Group Allergy and Immunology.A decision to discharge patients from an individual provider or department is taken seriously, considered final, and is not open to being revisited."
