Imagine standing up and suddenly feeling like you’re on a spinning carnival ride, except the ride never stops. That’s POTS—Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.

When I rise, my heart rate soars. My vision narrows. My legs tremble. Sometimes, my body simply gives out and I collapse. Something as ordinary as walking across the room leaves me gasping, faint, and utterly drained. My heart rate goes up as if I just ran up a flight of stairs just by standing from a sitting position.

It makes every errand, every hospital trip, every infusion that much harder. My caregivers see me sway, lean on the wall, or nearly fall, and rush to steady me. sometimes i sit on the floor for a few minits .or lay on the floor, no matter where i am even in a crowded mall or store. And yet—I keep pushing, because if I don’t, I risk losing what little strength remains. I have a walker for use on really bad days, a wheelchair , and a shower chair, for days im feeling weak.
