Chapter Four – July 2025: A Glimmer of Light - A Year of Trials and Triumphs – My Story

In July 2025, something precious entered my life: a puppy named Sapphire. Bright-eyed, brilliant, and eager to please, she quickly became my joy. Training her has been surprisingly smooth, she fills my days with laughter, warmth, and love. Amid the chaos, she is a reminder that hope can still grow in unexpected places.

But even in July and into August, another battle unfolded. My home health agency, which I had depended on for years, began to crumble around me. Suddenly, visits became sporadic. At times they vanished altogether three to four missed appointments in a row. For almost two weeks, I was left without care, my body pushed to its breaking point.

Severely dehydrated, I collapsed. My caregiver rushed me to the ER, where I was stabilized. Still, the agency failed to staff my case reliably. Out of desperation, I had to hire a private company to provide infusions, paying out of pocket for the fluids my body could not survive without.
