Behind every visible battle I face lies an invisible war. My body is a battlefield—one marked not only by dehydration, kidney stones, and hospital stays, but also by chronic, complex diagnoses that shape every breath I take.
I live with Mast Cell Disease. My immune system misfires without warning, releasing chemical storms inside me. A simple trigger, food, medication, even a change in temperature can spark violent reactions. Swelling, hives, flushing, and sometimes even anaphylaxis. It’s like living with a bomb inside me, uncertain when it might detonate.
I also battle POTS, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. When I stand, my heart surges as if I’ve run a marathon. Dizziness consumes me, vision blurs, weakness floods my muscles. Something as ordinary as walking to the kitchen feels like climbing Everest.
And layered over it all: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. My connective tissue is fragile, my joints unstable. Dislocations happen too easily, pain lingers too long, and my body does not heal the way it should. It makes every surgery more complex, every treatment more delicate, and every movement more precarious.
Each condition on its own is overwhelming. Together, they form a relentless storm system hitting all at once, spinning unpredictably, leaving me clinging to survival.
