I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Disease in fall of 2017 2 local Dr's (who know Dr A. whom is one of my Drs) doctors fought for and with me when i had no more strength. I am forever grateful to them for saving my life.

I encourage everyone to keep fighting .Never give up, never give in.

It can be a rough path to travel.

I was only eating plain Greek organic yogurt and nothing else for months. I had become so nutritionally depleted I could no longer walk on my own.I began sleeping most of my days away, my eyes were starting to be dark circles and sunken in.

My Drs were nervous and very cautious starting meds, we went very slow, titrating the medication to an amount my body would accept. We had the crash cart outside my door, Benadryl in hand, Epi pen by my side. Then I tried the medication. It wasn't easy I gagged coughed, dry heaved, threw up, but it worked. After a few days, I was released to go home.I needed to give the medication time to start working.

Still unable to eat without reacting, I spiraled downward fast, I went from 93 to 83 in a few days.

Now, I'm  living each day instead of surviving it. I know I'm still weak and fragile. I

have a long road of recovery ahead.

I will not give up nor will I be defeated by my diseases!

I was 83 lbs and highly malnourished, my Drs thought I might not make it. They prepared my family for the worst.

Truth is I was dying, this was a risk we had to take either way I was facing potential death.

I had surgery, the NJ tube was placed for about a month. I had to be on a continuous Benadryl drip to tolerate the feedings. I reacted not just to the formulas, but to the tube and my throat hurt so bad I couldn't swallow. It wouldn’t heal I was reacting to the silicone tubing. We eventually with no other option after a month took the NJ tube out.

My Dr and I decided it would be best to place a GJ Tube but my body would most likely reject it. We purposed a better plan would be to admit me back into the hospital and try oral formulas for a day and if it didn't work we would do the GJ Tube. I couldn't tolerate the formulas. I was determined to not have another tube after how I reacted to the NJ tube. I begged him to give me one more day to try foods. We went for it. I tried my plain Greek organic yogurt I was successful. The next day I tried plain turkey meat, it was successful. Later that evening I tried a plain organic chicken, it worked!! To his surprise, I ate the whole chicken. I tried baby peas, broccoli, rice all seperatly and reacted. I was finally able to go home. eventually after being admitted several times to do food trials i was able to get cooked peeled organic pears added to my diet and blueberries.

We will continue to do food challenges.

I am so excited!! I went rom 83 lbs to 135 lbs. It's amazing what the right medication and nutrition can do.

Although I had and still have a long road ahead things were and are improving. I want to share more because I have my theory and have done research of my own. I believe it's possible to to improve based on mind, medication, good Drs, and nutrition.

I encourage all that are struggling to keep fighting and continue searching for the right Drs. You will find what works for you.
